Nike Desert Journey Collaboration

In 2015, the Superbowl had come to Phoenix, Arizona. Nike had launched a campaign to celebrate the Super Bowls presence in the Valley of the Sun. In collaboration with Nike, I was selected to create a series of apparel to, not only celebrate Superbowl XLIX, but to honor and celebrate the original culture that inhabits the central and southern Arizona. This culture is the O'odham culture, along with the ancestral culture of the ancient Huhugam, who the O'odham are descendants.

The title of this collaboration is The Nike Desert Journey Collection. The collection consists of three pairs of shoes, a t-shirt, a jacket and a baseball hat. All items in the collection feature design work derived from traditional O'odham culture.
